History is all around us. It covers everything from the scar trees of the first Australians, to Milton Station, site of the first recorded European homestead, to the roaring days of gold and the struggles of the soldier settlers. It is found in the stories told by residents past and present, and in the events, writings and collections. It is being created today. History is part of who we were, who we are and who we will be.
As you explore these pages, we hope you find what you are looking for – but even more importantly, we hope you discover something that surprises you, as we continue to build the historical record of the Boyne Valley.
The small oval image at the head of the page is of Jack Theodore and two mates in Jack’s buckboard, at Knowles Crossing.
